Lam Shing Bun (Chinese: 林盛斌; English name: Bob Lam), born on September 24, 1979, is a former radio DJ and television program host at Metro Radio. He is currently a contracted artiste with TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited). Bob was once the host of the show The New Banana Club.
In 2012, he joined TVB, where his first hosting role was for the game show Ding Ding Dong Dui. He frequently appears in and hosts various TV programs. While he continued his radio work as a sideline, he rarely appeared on The New Banana Club after joining TVB.
In addition to his media career, Bob ventured into the business world. He is now one of the owners of the fashion store “POPCORN” and the entertainment production company “Chessman Entertainment.”

“Golden MC” Bob Lam (Lam Shing Bun) spoke out after his portrait was misused by a fraudulent financial company, stating that he will not tolerate such actions. Because of this incident, the reputation of good friend Bonnie was damaged, so he clarified: There is no “Bonnie Wu呃人”.
The incident was triggered by a financial company that repeatedly used Bob’s photos and video clips without the consent of Bob himself or his management company, repackaging them for fraudulent purposes. Initially, Bob was unaware of the situation. He later found out when a netizens messaged him privately, asking if he was endorsing a certain financial company in an advertisement, as the person was considering taking out a loan.
After learning about the situation, Bob immediately instructed his agent to contact the company and question why his image was used for commercial promotion without his permission. However, after just a few exchanges, the other party hung up the phone, confirming the fact that it was a scam.

After investigation, it was found that the Yahoo email and address displayed on the financial company’s official website were fake. The fraudulent company is not located on the 86th floor of Phase 2 of the Hong Kong International Financial Center. Its real address should be one of the office floors of the HKMA.
After fully understanding the situation, Bob immediately sorted out relevant information to expose this fraudulent company to prevent more people from being deceived. Shortly afterward, the company’s phone number could no longer be reached and its website went offline. The matter is now being followed up by Bob’s colleague, who is seeking legal advice for the next course of action, and has stated that there will be no tolerance toward the fraudsters.

As the protagonist of the incident, Bob admitted that if similar situations arise in the future, he will speak out on social media as soon as possible to clarify the truth and reduce the chances of others being deceived. Of course, it would be best if law enforcement agencies stepped up their efforts to combat online fraud, because the victim is not only the individual himself, but many people will be affected. For example, my good friend Bonnie was implicated and her reputation was damaged because of this incident, unfairly earning the nickname “Bonnie Wu呃人.”.

Not long ago, Bob publicly sought a marriage partner for his female friend Bonnie on social media platforms, who works in real estate in the United States, attracting many netizens to leave comments: “Sister, I don’t want to work hard anymore”, and even girls expressed their desire to meet her.

The strong reactions from netizens have a lot to do with Bonnie’s strengths and success. Bonnie Wu is an expert in high-return property investments in the United States. Founder of Capstone 72, with 15 years of experience in U.S. real estate investment and development. Bonnie Wu is the author of “Capstone 72”, which has been hailed as a must-read for beginner real estate investors. In 2022, under Bonnie’s guidance, Bob Lam, known as a “hidden millionaire” in the entertainment industry, invested HK$800,000 to buy a detached house in the United States, with a rental return rate of 10%, which is more than three times that of Hong Kong. Moreover, in the second year, you can mortgage the property to withdraw cash and then buy a second house in the United States to create cash flow. Bob admitted that the property selection and purchase procedures were all handled with Bonnie’s help, and he spoke highly of her capabilities and service.

We are both friends and partners. After witnessing the exceptionally high investment returns of properties in Ohio, USA, Bob joined Capstone72 and became Bonnie’s star spokesperson to promote overseas property investment. The rumor “Bonnie Wu呃人” spread because scammers misused the promotional video filmed by Bob and Bonnie, causing misunderstandings among netizens. That’s why Bob clarified for Bonnie: misunderstanding! There is no “Bonnie Wu呃人”.
